Hacktoberfest: Join the largest open source contributor event this October

Hacktoberfest

The seventh annual Hacktoberfest starts Oct. 1, and Mattermost is proud to be a community partner for this year’s event!

Hacktoberfest is a month-long event that encourages members of the open source community to contribute to the projects they love. It is open to everyone: students, new developers, and long-time contributors. All skills and backgrounds are welcome to participate.

This year, the Hacktoberfest challenge is to submit at least four pull requests to any public repository on GitHub. In return, you can win awesome prizes — including a T-shirt and stickers from the event sponsors. If you contribute to Mattermost and it’s your first time contributing, you’ll also earn some swag from us!

Visit https://mattermost.com/hacktoberfest/ to find featured projects and gain experience with Go, ReactJS, React Native, and more. You can also review our contribution guidelines to help you submit your first pull request.

We look forward to seeing what you contribute!

Happy Hacktoberfest!
