Embracing delays: Ensuring quality and innovation in Mattermost releases

At Mattermost, we strive to deliver exceptional products and services that exceed customer expectations. We understand the importance of timely releases, but sometimes there are circumstances that necessitate a delay.

After years of continuous innovation, we’ve decided to pause for a bit to ensure the stability of our platform lives up to our users’ expectations. To this end, we canceled the v7.11 release and are moving our v8.0 release from June to July to ensure we have ample time to stabilize the platform and complete rigorous quality assurance testing.

We believe embracing these delays is critical to ensuring we deliver a product that upholds our commitment to quality. Since we support the three most recent releases at any given time, we will extend support for v7.9 to July and support for v7.10 to August.

While we understand that delays can be frustrating, we firmly believe that prioritizing quality after innovation is the right move. We want to express our gratitude for your patience and continued support as we work diligently to finalize the v8.0 release.

As we move forward, we will remain transparent and keep you updated on our progress. Our team is dedicated to promptly delivering our v8.0 release in July. We are excited to share this release and its subsequent Extended Support Release in August.
