Mattermost Intelligent Mission Environment Now Available on Oracle Cloud Marketplace: Strengthening Secure Collaboration for US and Allied Defense Modernization in the AI Era

As CEO of Mattermost, I’m pleased to announce that Mattermost is now available on the Oracle Cloud Marketplace. This expansion, adding to our existing presence on Microsoft Azure, marks a significant step in providing mission-critical organizations with the secure collaboration capabilities essential for navigating today’s complex threat landscape. From supporting out-of-band incident response, cyber defense, command and control, red team operations, and penetration testing to enabling secure DevSecOps workflows often within highly restricted, air-gapped environments, Mattermost is an Intelligent Mission Environment purpose-built for the rigorous demands of defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure organizations. This is particularly relevant in the context of major US AI infrastructure initiatives like the recently announced Stargate Project, and the growing need for secure, sovereign cloud solutions for both the US and its allies.

The Strategic Importance of AI Infrastructure and Sovereign Cloud

The Stargate Project, a $500 billion joint venture involving OpenAI, SoftBank, Oracle, Microsoft, and other key technology players, underscores the strategic importance of robust and secure AI infrastructure to US national security. This initiative to develop a network of advanced AI data centers across the United States will generate vast quantities of sensitive data and require unprecedented levels of operational security.

In parallel, the need for sovereign cloud solutions is rapidly increasing. Governments and defense organizations worldwide are prioritizing data sovereignty and seeking cloud environments that comply with national regulations and security requirements. Oracle Sovereign Cloud is specifically designed to meet these needs, offering a secure, compliant, and high-performance cloud infrastructure within a nation’s borders, and isolated from other cloud regions. This allows for sensitive workloads to be processed and stored in a manner that meets the stringent requirements of defense and intelligence agencies, and supports AI development in a secure and controlled environment.

Protecting this critical infrastructure from nation-state cyber threats is paramount. Mattermost also directly addresses this need.

Mattermost and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure: A Secure Foundation for Mission-Critical Operations, Globally

Oracle’s leadership in secure cloud infrastructure, particularly its commitment to Oracle Sovereign Cloud solutions, makes it an ideal partner for Mattermost. Our Intelligent Mission Environment, now available on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including within sovereign cloud regions, offers:

  • Enhanced Security: Mattermost leverages OCI’s robust security framework, including advanced data encryption, access controls, and threat detection, to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
  • Sovereign Cloud Compliance: We facilitate compliance with stringent data residency, security regulations, and operational requirements through Oracle’s Sovereign Cloud offerings, ensuring data remains within a defined, secure, and compliant boundary.
  • Scalability and Performance: Mattermost can scale to support the demanding operational needs of large organizations, aligning with the expansive scope of the Stargate Project and other major AI initiatives.
  • Purpose-Built for Air-Gapped and Classified Environments: Mattermost provides secure and reliable 1:1 and group messaging, file sharing, systems integrations, workflow automation, AI acceleration, audio calling, and screen sharing – all within highly restricted network environments.

AI-Enhanced Collaboration for US and Allied Defense Missions

Mattermost is at the forefront of integrating AI to enhance operational effectiveness. We are extending our proven OpenAI use cases, initially developed on Azure, to the Oracle platform. This enables:

  • Accelerated Threat Detection and Response: AI-powered workflows can rapidly analyze data streams to identify and respond to emerging cyber threats.
  • Enhanced Situational Awareness: Real-time insights and contextual information, derived from AI analysis, support informed decision-making in dynamic operational environments.
  • Streamlined Operations: Automation of routine tasks and optimization of workflows through AI-driven processes.
  • Improved Knowledge Management: Secure and efficient access to, and analysis of, critical information is facilitated by AI capabilities.

A Commitment to US and Allied Defense Modernization

The convergence of AI, national security, and the need for secure collaboration is upon us. Mattermost’s availability on the Oracle Cloud Marketplace, including Oracle Sovereign Cloud regions, represents a timely and vital development.

We’re committed to supporting both US and allied defense organizations as they modernize their IT infrastructure with AI. Our goal is to help these organizations achieve transformational speed, precision, and efficiency gains. Mattermost is designed to meet the highest standards of adaptability, security, and resilience, so defense and intelligence agencies can operate with confidence in an increasingly complex world.
