Announcing What Matters: A podcast from the folks at Mattermost
It is with great pleasure and excitement that the Community Team at Mattermost announces the release of our new podcast – What Matters: A Podcast from the folks at Mattermost! We’ve taken a look at all the things we enjoy about the communities we are a part of, Open Source, ChatOps, DevOps, Go, and everything in between and distilled it into a podcast hosted by Senior Developer Advocate PJ Hagerty.
We kick off our first episode of What Matters with an introduction to all things Mattermost from CEO and Co-founder Ian Tien. PJ and Ian discuss why community is so important to what we do at Mattermost and how things are driven by the desire to make things safe, secure, and easy to use for everyone.
In episode two, we get some perspective on Open Source from Mattermost Software Design Engineer Jesús Espino. Here PJ and Jesus talk about the story of Jesús’ journey from Mattermost contributor to Mattermost Engineer and why it’s so important to foster folks getting started on their Open Source Journey.
For episode three, Go Developer, mentor, rocker, and Community Advocate Mark Bates joins PJ to talk about Golang, Open Source, and why it’s important to work towards your passion in order to make things happen! From projects like Buffalo and Papercall.io to why a non-traditional path to coding is important, Mark and PJ find laughs and more than a few bits of insight looking at their pasts.
Episode four finds PJ sitting down with Saul Ibarra Corretge of Jitsi to talk about the upcoming #HackingFromHome joint hackathon from the folks at Mattermost and Jitsi. They also talk about Open Source philosophy and why not everyone is comfortable working from home.
